Biography
A career defined by turning mineral opportunities into recognized value through capital markets expertise, strategic transactions, and disciplined execution.
Michelle DeCecco, MBA, is a Canadian mining executive with over 20 years of experience in the public resource sector. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Kairos Gold Corp. (TSXV: KIRO), a gold exploration company advancing a portfolio of five projects across 22,433 hectares in Chile, and as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Lithium Chile Inc. (TSXV: LITH | OTCQB: LTMCF), a lithium exploration and resource company with holdings exceeding 110,000 hectares in Chile and 29,245 hectares in Argentina.
Throughout her career, DeCecco has operated at the intersection of mineral assets and the capital markets around them. Her core capabilities span corporate development, investor relations, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and securities regulation. She has applied this skill set across multiple commodities, including gold, lithium, copper, silver, oil and gas, and critical minerals, consistently following a value-creation approach centered on identifying undervalued opportunities, structuring the right financing and partnerships, building market credibility through measurable milestones, and pursuing strategic transactions that maximize shareholder outcomes.
At Kairos Gold, DeCecco led the company through its public listing on the TSX Venture Exchange in March 2026, subsequently closing an oversubscribed $3.5 million offering and an upsized $9.8 million private placement in July 2026. The company is focused on advancing near-term drill targets and long-term resource growth within the prolific Chilean mega porphyry belt, known for its rich deposits of gold, silver, and copper.
At Lithium Chile, she joined as Vice President of Corporate Development in December 2021 and was subsequently appointed COO. She has contributed to the company's corporate strategy, including the proposed US$180 million sale of Lithium Chile's 80% interest in the Salar de Arizaro project in Argentina, a transaction that exemplifies her capital-allocation philosophy of monetizing assets at the right moment to create shareholder value rather than retaining them indefinitely.
DeCecco holds additional board and advisory positions across the mining and critical minerals sectors, including directorships at Beyond Lithium Inc. (since 2023), South American Lithium Inc. (since 2022), and Golden Goose Resources Corp. (since 2024). She previously served as Founder, Director, and Interim CEO of Monumental Energy Corp. (TSXV: MNRG) and as President of Mondo Resources Ltd.
She holds a Master of Business Administration with honours in accounting and finance from the University of Fredericton (2011). Outside of her professional career, DeCecco has been involved in community leadership through the Rotary Club of Calgary's Stay In School Program, reflecting a commitment to mentoring and youth development alongside her corporate work.
DeCecco is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is one of the few women simultaneously holding CEO and COO roles at two separate publicly traded mining companies in Canada.
